The following terms of service apply when you use the Meteostat API or the Meteostat Bulk Data interface (the “services”). Please review the terms and license carefully. By accessing or using the services, you signify your agreement to these terms.
If you do not agree to the terms, you may not access or use the services provided by Meteostat.
The services are limited to non-commercial usage, only. You are not allowed to create multiple accounts or use any automated tool that attempts to create multiple accounts.
The services are provided by Meteostat without any costs for the user. Meteostat may discontinue or block access to the services at any time without prior notification. Meteostat has no obligation to compensate users for any down time or discontinuation of the services.
Meteostat uses data of various meteorological services and organizations. Each of them has its own copyright restrictions. You agree to the terms of the different organizations and the policy of WMO resolution 40. We cannot guarantee for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided on this website. Moreover, Meteostat is not responsible for any infringement of a copyright committed by a third-party

The Meteostat API is made available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Public License. Due to restrictions of our raw data providers the Meteostat API is limited to non-commercial use, only.
Meteostat uses various public data sources that require attribution. Most data interfaces used by Meteostat are provided by either the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) or the German Meteorological Office (DWD). The data available through the Meteostat API is usually gathered by national governmental offices. Besides NOAA and DWD, Meteostat uses data provided by these governmental organizations for their respective countries.
Please note that Meteostat is a non-profit project which aims to provide easy access to weather and climate data. You agree inform yourself about the terms of the different raw data providers used by Meteostat.
You agree that any application or service which includes data obtained from the services must prominently display the following attribution:
Meteostat respects the privacy of its users. For security reasons, Meteostat stores the following information for each request:
- IP address
- Country (derived from IP)
- Location (derived from IP)
- Time of request
- Request path
The request logs are deleted after 90 days. Account information which is provided upon sing up ist stored persistently.
