The following terms of service apply when using the Meteostat Python library, the Meteostat JSON API or the Meteostat bulk data interface (the “services”). Please review the terms and license carefully. By accessing or using the services, you signify your agreement to these terms.

If you do not agree to the terms, you may not access or use the services provided by Meteostat.

# Use of Services

Meteostat does not charge users for the data itself. All weather and climate data provided by Meteostat can be accessed without any cost for the user. Any service fees only cover the cost of reproduction, delivery and maintenance on our side. You are not allowed to create multiple accounts or use any automated tool that attempts to create multiple accounts.

# Availability

Meteostat may discontinue or block access to the services at any time without prior notification. Meteostat has no obligation to compensate users for any down time or discontinuation of the services.

# Limitation of Liability

The use of our services is at your sole risk. The data provided by Meteostat is not intended to be used in any context where human life or property may be at risk.

We cannot guarantee for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided through our services. Moreover, Meteostat is not responsible for any infringement of a copyright committed by a third-party.

# License

Meteostat data is generally provided under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Public License (CC BY-NC 4.0) (opens new window). You may build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially. However, you are not allowed to redistribute Meteostat data "as-is" for commercial purposes outside of the US.

This is due to the policy of WMO resolution 40 (opens new window). According to the resolution, data must be distributed "free and unrestricted" and "at no more than the cost of reproduction and delivery, without charge for the data and products themselves".

You agree that any application or service which includes data obtained from the services must prominently display the following attribution:
